Continuing with our series of re-issues from the vaults of the mighty Prince Buster, we are proud to announce the release of four shwcka tracks, this time in a 7" dub-plate format. A friend of mine went to Jamaica to buy those kinds of records. It seemed to me if you think too much about those things you end up with a finished product that is no good.

All the while I was listening to reggae and getting into older stuff — realising that dancehall tracks were based on oldies rhythms — so after I quit rocl band I became a selector playing oldies shackz at clubs.

Masaya Hayashi Massa runs the business for over 20 years, bringing Jamaican vintage vibes from on Island to an other. All four tunes are instrumentals featuring the cream of Jamaica's session musicians under the nom de guerre of The Buster All Stars.

From my point of view Jamaica and Japan are completely different.

Before I started playing records I was the bassist in a reggae dancehall band and we used to play at various festivals. Ali Shuffle aka Rock Steady was Buster's homage to Muhammad Ali, and Vera Cruz named after the film were both released on the Bluebeat label in the UK and are revered as ska classics, while the other two side are previously unreleased and were apparently only ever cut on acetates for sound system use. I played there every Saturday for 2 years.

Suddenly we were getting customers coming. Then when Shabba Rankin came to Japan the reggae movement began in Japan and that was what all the youth were listening to. Sticking with the Black Ark stable, We are proud to announce two new re-issue tracks for the first time on 10" vinyl.
